Carnival
Declared of Regional Tourist Interest, the programme for the Torrevieja Carnival begins at the end of January, with the announcement and the crowning of the Carnival Queens and it goes on well into February, with a whole host of events and competitions. One of the most popular is the street musician competition, the Drag Queen competition, the children's painting competition and of course, the spectacular parades. The evening parade is particularly popular, preceded by a parade/competition in which all the carnival groups take part in a competition with incredible choreographies and fancy dress. |
