ECO TOURIST ROUTES

ECOTOURISM ROUTES IN PROTECTED NATURAL SPACES OF TORREVIEJA.

The natural environment of Torrevieja stands out for its immense variety and uniqueness, leading to the declaration of several Protected Natural Spaces in the municipality with objectives including the preservation of its environmental heritage and raising awareness of its exceptional value among the local population and visitors. Consequently, we offer guided tours in the Natural Park of the La Mata and Torrevieja lagoons and in the Municipal Natural Site of Molino del Agua. These tours are free with prior registration and are led by expert guides knowledgeable about the municipality's natural environment.

At La Mata Lagoon, four different types of routes are conducted to unveil the unique, fragile, and astonishing heritage harbored within this Protected Natural Space, which is included in the European Union's Natura 2000 Network.

In the case of Molino del Agua, two visiting slots will be available on each date, at 10:00 and 12:00, allowing us to discover the astonishing biodiversity found in this dune enclave on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

Please find below details regarding each of the outings and the available dates. Make sure to carefully review the PDF documents for both protected areas, which you can find at this link, as they include recommendations for the outing as well as meeting points, schedules, etc. The company responsible for guiding the route will contact you 24 hours before the outing via email with additional information.

Inscriptions for the La Mata Lagoon and Molino del Agua routes can be made one month in advance, except for the nighttime outings during the summer season at La Mata, for which the form will open two weeks before the routes take place.

Ruta Los secretos de la noche en la laguna (summer night tour)

When night falls, the landscape transforms: some of its inhabitants sleep while others awaken, the sounds change, the scents envelop us, and if we pay attention, we can even hear the legends that the constellations and stars still tell to this day.

During the months of July and August, we journey through La Mata Lagoon after enjoying its sunset, while the night immerses us in the magic and mystery of this natural environment. It's a route filled with incredible stories about a natural environment that, without the light of day, changes and surprises us.
